In order to investigate transcriptional induction potential of rchIFN-?3, we profiled bursa of Fabricious and thymus using RNA-seq from rchIFN-?3 stimulated chicken.Intriguingly, this experimental approach revealed contrasting evidence of antiviral potential of chIFN-? both in vivo and in vitro models. Our data signifies the potential of chIFN-? as potent antiviral cytokine and highlights fundamental resemblances between avian and mammalian IFN-? systems and suggests its future possible role to be used as an antiviral therapeutic in poultry.
