"The Temple of the Sacred Footprint". The temple is at the summit of Adam's Peak, built over an indentation in the rock resembling a gigantic foorprint. The site is held to be sacred by Buddhists, Hindus and Muslims.; From a set of lantern slides entitled "Ceylon, a fascinating field" revised by Rev. A.S. Beaty in 1942. Arthur Stanley Beaty (1883-1970) was a Methodist missionary in Ceylon [Sri Lanka] from 1906 to 1939.
