The degradation of complex carbon sources in organic fertilizers facilitates nitrogen fixation

Non-symbiotic N2 fixation is one of the most important aspects of biological nitrogen fixation. However, relatively little is known about the impact of organic fertilizer addition on non-symbiotic nitrogen fixation. Here, we conducted related experiments to investigate how the addition of organic fertilizers specifically affects the N fixation and a new model of microbial utilization of complex carbon sources to promote nitrogen fixation was proposed.
