Black Hole Growth in Luminous Quasars with XMM-Newton Legacy Stripe 82X Survey
收藏资源简介:
We propose an XMMNewton survey overlapping 20 deg^2 in legacy field SDSS Stripe82, the location of an unsurpassed collection of publicly available deepmultiwavelength data, including >800 optical spectra per deg^2. The addition ofwidefield hard Xray coverage addresses our key science goal to determinesupermassive black hole growth in quasars, which likely dominate the total blackhole mass accreted over cosmic time. The survey area and depth are designed toprobe luminosities and redshifts that have been poorly explored in hard Xrays, capitalizing on XMMNewton.s hard Xray response, large effective area and fieldof view. Stripe 82X.. requires 185 overlapping 4.5ks pointings in mosaic mode, with limiting flux F_(0.52keV) virgul 5e15 erg/s/cm^2 over most of the field. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
