资源简介:
This dataset supports the manuscript titled "From Screen Time to Algorithmic Impact: A Bibliometric and Thematic Analysis of Social Media and Adolescent Depression (2010–2025)", submitted to Frontiers in Psychiatry.
Dataset Overview
The dataset contains the complete bibliometric corpus retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). After rigorous screening following PRISMA guidelines (see Figure 1 in the manuscript), a total of 4,807 peer-reviewed articles and review articles (2010–2025) were included in the final analysis.
Data Collection
Records were retrieved using the following search strategy:
TS = ("social media" OR "social network*" OR "facebook" OR "instagram" OR "tiktok" OR "twitter" OR "wechat" OR "screen time" OR "internet use" OR "smartphone addiction") AND ("depression" OR "depressive" OR "mental health" OR "anxiety" OR "psychological distress") AND ("adolescen*" OR "teen" OR "youth" OR "student"), limited to English-language "Articles" and "Review Articles".
Contents of the Dataset (files to be uploaded)
- Raw WoSCC export files (.txt / .bib format)
- Cleaned and processed dataset (.csv)
- Bibliometrix R package outputs and analysis scripts
- VOSviewer network files (.net, .vec) for co-authorship, co-citation, and keyword co-occurrence maps
- All figures and tables from the manuscript (high-resolution)
- PRISMA flow diagram data and supplementary tables
- README.md with variable descriptions and reproduction instructions
Key Analyses Supported
- Annual publication and citation trends (peaking in 2025)
- Geographical and institutional distribution (USA and China dominant)
- Co-authorship and collaboration networks
- Reference co-citation analysis (three theoretical clusters)
- Keyword co-occurrence and thematic evolution (shift from “screen time” / Displacement Hypothesis to “algorithmic influence”, “digital phenotyping”, and TikTok-related mechanisms)
Usage & Reproducibility
This dataset allows full reproduction of all analyses in the paper using Bibliometrix (R) and VOSviewer. It is made publicly available to promote transparency, reproducibility, and further research in digital mental health and scientometrics.
