资源简介:
Purpose: This experiment was carried out to measure the abundance of Purple Aster in grasslands. The The experiment was carried out in the Danby Woods grasslands located south of Chimney Stack Rd., York University, Keele campus. The data was collected on the 26th of September 2014. Temperature was around 25˚ C- 22˚ C. Method: The transect technique was used to in this experiment. The transect tape was spread out in a straight line and laid at a random spot, near an abundance of Purple Asters. Purple Asters that grew 1m on either side of the transect tape were analyzed for their height, number of leaves, number of flowers and their relative environments (crowdedness). The height was measured with a transect tape. Number of leaves and flowers were estimated. Level of crowdedness was estimated and converted to a numerical scale from 0-3, where 0 = open, 1 = some plants nearby, 2 = quite a few plants, 3 = very crowded bunch of plants. These values were recorded on a paper. The experiment was conducted with Ferenaz, Maham and Sana.
