Regulatory limits of the Port Maritime Public Domain transferred to the Department

The General Council of the Gironde, licensor of the Port Maritime Public Domain manages 22 departmental ports located on the estuary of the Gironde and the Basin of Arcachon. In the sense of the transfer of skills, ports are departmental when they receive a professional activity related to maritime trades. Some departmental ports are managed under direct management by the department, others are granted to the municipalities.A concession agreement specifies the management and operation arrangements between the General Council and the concessionaire. However, the ports are subject to a regulatory delimitation on the Domaine Public Maritime.This delimitation is carried out by the State services and validated according to a complex regulatory procedure. When transferring the management of State ports to the Department, these limits have been taken into account and the port police authority applies. The Department is therefore vested with port police authority (AIPP) within the limits as represented by these data.
