Ant community dynamics and carrion decomposition in Mediterranean oaks

This dataset contains information from a study on the decomposition of small pieces of carrion in a Mediterranean dehesa. Data were collected from an exclusion experiment conducted in two areas with different land management practices: pastureland and cereal fields. The experiment was designed in pairs to account for variations in carrion decomposition between tree cavities and the surrounding ground. The dataset includes multiple files that enable the evaluation of carrion decomposition, differences of the  associated ant communities, differences in bait detection by vertebrates based on carrion location, and the relative contribution of vertebrates to the total mass removed.
