Amphipods associate with chemosynthetic bacteria at a shallow-water hydrothermal vent

This project explores the microbes associated with amphipods of the genus Ischyrocerus, collected from the Strytan hydrothermal vent site, Eyjafjordur, Iceland, located at 16 to 70 m water depth. In addition, the microbiomes of bryozoan, hydroid, and sponge specimens, as well as a mussel and a microbial mat from Strytan and nearby sites were sequenced to compare with those of the amphipods.
