This dataset contains tweets in Spanish published on the platform X (formerly Twitter) about the power outages in Ecuador, where narratives related to their impact on mental health can be observed. It consists of 3,953 observations and 6 variables (username, realname, date, text, favorite, and link), collected between September 22 and December 19, 2024. Emotions Present in the Dataset: 1) Frustration and indignation: Expressed in complaints about the lack of electricity, government management, and the economic or personal consequences of the outages. 2) Anxiety and stress: Mentioned in posts about the impact on daily routines, safety, productivity, and overall well-being. 3) Fear: Present in texts referring to prolonged blackouts, insecurity, or the lack of official information. 4) Sadness and despair: Especially in messages about the difficulties of coping with the situation, the effects on businesses, and issues in hospitals or schools. 5) Hopelessness: Reflected in posts expressing the perception of a lack of short-term solutions and a sense of helplessness in the face of the crisis. Additionally, news-related and political posts have been identified.
