Microbial diversity on soil contaminated

Microbial communities play a principal role in petroleum degradation. The aim of the study was to characterize of the ecological status of the contaminated soil crude of Tabasco and Tamaulipas states from Mexico and discover what microbial populations can live under these conditions. We used Quantitative Insights into Microbial Ecology pipeline to identify the structure and diversity of bacterial communities in bulk soil samples collected from Tabasco and Tamaulipas regions. The proteobacteria phyla was the major abundance relative in both samples collected by using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) analysis.
