Gene database of Mesoplasma florum L1

<i>Mesoplasma florum</i> has one of the smallest genome of all self-replicating organisms known to exist on Earth. As such, it is particularly useful for understanding the minimal set of genes needed for supporting life. Non-motile and non-parasitic, the organism is also useful for understanding the pathways and genetic determinants of motility and parasitic behaviour. This work presents the gene database of <i>M. florum</i> that comprises gene name, gene function, and gene sequence using data from the annotated genome sequence of the organism downloaded from Genbank. Overall, genetic information collected in the presented gene database should find use in a variety of settings seeking to understand the molecular mysteries in replication and other cellular processes in this relatively less studied microorganism.
