Dataset and code for the study "Beyond coverage: can vaccination reduce child mortality despite structural inequality? A global ecological analysis of routine childhood immunization (2010–2023)"

This dataset supports the global ecological analysis conducted in the manuscript “Beyond coverage: Can vaccination reduce child mortality despite structural inequality?” (PLOS ONE, 2025). It compiles harmonised, country-level panel data for 118 countries from 2010 to 2023. Variables include routine childhood vaccination coverage (BCG, DTP3, HepB3, Hib3, MCV2, Pol3), infant mortality rates (per 1,000 live births), national income classification, and GDP per capita. Data were sourced from publicly available repositories including WHO, UNICEF, and the World Bank. Each variable has been standardised at the country-year level to ensure consistency across time and sources. The dataset is accompanied by metadata, codebook, and R scripts for reproducibility.
