This database consists of methane fluxes and ancillary data compiled from the literature for aquatic ecosystems including rivers and streams, lakes, ponds and reservoirs, estuaries, mangroves, saltmarshes, seagrasses, tidal flats, aquaculture ponds, continental shelfs, and summarises previous published freshwater wetlands, rice cultivation (Saunois et al 2020) and slope and open ocean (Weber et al. 2019).
