This archive contains the source code, scripts, and data used to produce the results (figures and tables) in the manuscript Lerner et al., "Cascading Impacts of AMOC weakening and collapse on Marine Biogeochemistry". Submission: The manuscript is currently submitted to nature, but this archive will also be used as a reference if another journal ends up publishing the manuscript. . The structure of this archive is as following: 1. Source code: contains the tarball NASA_GISS_E2.1_G.tar, which includes the source code for model E used to produce the resutls in the submitted manuscript. For a description of the coupled atmopshere ocean model, see Kelley et al., JAMES, 2020, doi: For a description of the carbon cycle model, see Romanou et al., GMD, in review: doi: https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2025-4839 2. Data: Data from this directory is read in by the scripts used to produce results in the manuscript. Data is organized as followed: Age_budget_Terms: used to compute flux of the age tracer at 1100 m in Extended Data Fig. 5a collapsed_minus_recovered_2350-2400: used to compute fields in collapsed minus recovered AMOC states in Fig. 2 global_means: used for a variety of figs (seee scripts section below) ocean_area: used to compute flux of the age tracer at 1100 m in Extended Data Fig. 5a regional_means: used for a variety of figs (seee scripts section below) zonal_means: used to compute zonally-averaged salinity and potential density in Atlantic and Pacific basins for Extended Data Fig. 3b-e 3. Scripts**: Fig.1.py: Used to plot Fig 1 of the manuscript, using data in "global_means" Fig2_and_E8.py: Used to plot Fig 2 and Extended Data Fig. 3a in the manuscript, using data in "collapsed_minus_recovered_2350-2400" Fig3_lags_E2_E7.py: used to compute lags shown in Fig. 3. and plots in Extended Data Figs. 2 and 7, using data in "regional_means" Fig3_severity_change_latency.py: used to compute latency, change due to AMOC collapse, and severity of responses in Fig. 3, using data from "regional_means" FigE3a_e.py: Used to plot Extended Data Fig. 3b-e, using data from "zonal_means" FigE5a.py: Used to plot the flux of the age tracer at 1100 m in Extended Data Fig. 5a, using data from "Age_budget_Terms" and "ocean_area". FigE5b.py: Used to plot the vertical advection velocity in Extended Data Fig 5b, using data from 'regional_means" FigE6.py: Used to plot Extended Data Fig. 6, using data from "regional_means" FigE8py: Used to plot Extended Data Fig. 8, using data from "global_means" FigE9_E10.py: Used to plot Extended Data Fig. 9 and 10, using data from "regional_means". **For all scripts, the user must specifiy the path for both the data and for saving figures.
