Stigma and its challenges in life courses of persons with cerebral palsy, 2026

The research was conducted as part of a doctoral dissertation and examines the experience of stigma, ways of coping with it, and stigma as a gender-specific experience among people with disabilities throughout their life course. It is based on personal narratives of individuals with cerebral palsy, highlighting their experiences in childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. Using a life-course approach, the research examines how participants themselves perceive and make sense of stigma throughout their lives. A total of 30 in-depth interviews were conducted, all of which are available through ADP.
