This dataset provides the input data used in a study to generate 3,000 nonlinear finite element simulations of PWR SNF rod pinching under consideration of potential train transportation accidents during SNF cask transportation after 300 of dry storage. The input data was created using Latin Hypercube Sampling in a previous study that assessed an extreme accident scenario described by a 9-m cask drop. The present study reassessed the original scenarios assuming new, more representative pinching load amplitudes that were derived under consideration of statistical train accident data, and potential cask drop scenarios and impact angles. The finite element models were employed to compute the diametric, plastic cladding deformations demands, expressed as the offset strain demand OSD, and the corresponding data are summarized in the datasets as well. Further, the datasets provide the results for the plastic cladding deformation capability, expressed as the offset strain capacity OSC, and indicates the realizations in which cladding pinching failure is detected.
