Canada: annual public transport ridership in Toronto 2011-2022

The annual number of passengers transported by the public transport operator in Toronto (TTC) remained almost stable between 2011 and 2019, peaking at 538.1 million passengers in 2016. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the public transport ridership in the Canadian city dropped by 57 percent compared with 2019 levels and stood at 225 million passengers in 2020. Ridership began climbing again but only reached 319 million in 2022.
