Genome analyses of a wild × domestic cross reveals genes associated with body size and plumage color of ducks

DNA were extracted using a traditional phenol-chloroform protocol.The quality and quantity of DNA were examined by Nanodrop and agarose gel electrophoresis. After the examination, paired-end libraries were generated for each eligible individual using standard procedures. In addition, the average insert size were 500bp and reads length were 125bp or 150bp. All libraries were sequenced on an Illumina Hiseq 2000 or Hiseq X Ten machine
