Effect of maternal metabolic stress on drosophila progeny intestines

In this experiment we exmained the impact of maternal metabolic stress on progeny gene expression in the drosophila intestine. To investigate the effect of maternal metabolic stress on progeny intestines, we crossed control females and females expressing InR-DN in the germline to Oregon R males. We isolated intestines from the adult progeny and preppeed RNA using a Tripure based RNA extraction procotol. the mRNA was then sequenced with assistance from the UTSW sequencing core.
