Subsurface sediments Metagenome. marine sediment metagenome

Marine subsurface sediments are inhabited by abundant uncultivated and diverse microorganisms. The study of microbial ecology of this habitat is still in its infancy. To better understand the physiology and evolution of these microbial comunities, a metagenomic approach was applied to Canterbury Basin subsurface sediments, collected during the IODP 307 cruise. Whole DNA was sequenced after MDA amplification.
