The dataset of seed plants catalogue in Yunnan Province

Species catalogue is a basic biota data of a natural geographical region or administrative division, and is premises of biodiversity research, conservation and rational utilization. However, argument on taxonomic opinion and systems lead to inconsistency between various species checklists. Ongoing taxonomic and systematic research can also often cause different taxonomic treatment. Moreover, new taxa and new record taxa is keeping on publishing and finding.Therefore, species catalogue needs continuous updating. Based on information from Flora of Yunnan, Checklist of Yunnan Seed Plants, Flora of China and other sources of taxonomic references such as monograph, herbarium specimen, plant expedition, we archived the dataset of Catalogue of Yunnan Seed Plants version 2016 by means of scientific data treatment and expert review, according to the newest plant systems and researches. This is by far the most authoritative and most accurate seed plants catalogue, and will facilitate seed plants research, conservation, rational utilization, and also present scientific basis for biodiversity management and policy.
