The Chinese alligator, a freshwater crocodilian endemic to China, goes into hibernation in refuges during winter to save energy and survive the harshness of winter. In this study, we sequenced microRNA transcriptome of Chinese alligator of multiple tissues to comprehensively explore the molecular mechanism underlying hibernation and provide new insights into the conservation of Chinses alligator which are being threatened by climate change.
