THE CONCEPT OF POWER IN GEORGE ORWELL'S ANIMAL FARM

Relevance of the Study. The relevance of examining the concept of power in George Orwell’s Animal Farm lies in the continued interest of modern humanities in issues of power, ideology, and mechanisms of social control. As an allegorical representation of twentieth-century political processes, the novel remains highly significant in the twenty-first century, when manipulation of public consciousness, distortion of revolutionary ideals, and abuse of authority are still prevalent. Analyzing the concept of power within a literary text makes it possible to identify universal patterns of how power functions and transforms—from an ideal of collective equality to an authoritarian system of governance. In this regard, Orwell’s novel provides a valuable framework for understanding the dynamics of power in both historical and contemporary contexts.
