This dataset contains all data supporting the article: Vanderghinste P., Bautil A., Bedford M. R., González-Ortiz G., Courtin C. M.: 'Impact of the particle size of wheat bran inclusions in feed on the precaecal gastrointestinal tract fibre particle size distribution, caecal digesta particle size and caecal fibre fermentation in young and growing broilers'. This research aimed to understand how fibre particle size impacts fibre degradation and fermentation along the broiler gastrointestinal tract. A broiler trial in which three different wheat bran particle sizes were added to the feed was performed to measure the effect on gizzard development, fibre degradation and caecal fibre fermentation. These results can help determine the optimal fibre particle size to stimulate broiler digestion, performance and gut health in a sustainable way.
