GLOBE Observer Eclipse Data

Project Description: The NASA Earth Science Education Collaborative led citizen science efforts to collect observations of atmospheric changes (clouds and temperature) during the 2023 and 2024 solar eclipses. The initiative also created communication and education resources to support training and data collection with informal educators and organizations, such as libraries, Master Naturalists, and Civil Air Patrol. Resource Description: Air temperature, cloud, land cover and wind data collected by citizen scientists during the October 23, 2023, and April 8, 2024 eclipses. Data were largely reported through the GLOBE Observer app, though wind and air temperature data were submitted to the GLOBE Program through other data entry pathways.
