Phylogeny of Passifloras from Boyaca using chloroplastidic markers

The genus Passiflora is one of the most diverse within the family Passifloraceae, encompassing species with significant nutritional, industrial, medicinal, and ornamental potential. It is also known for its evolutionary dynamics in its chloroplast genome (cp), which serves as a model for studying structural variations in natural populations. This study investigates the phylogenetic relationships in 47 genetic materials of Passiflora species from the department of Boyaca, Colombia, using the chloroplast markers trnL, ITS, and psbA-trnH.
