Temporal variability and stability of the fecal microbiome: the Multiethnic Cohort Study

For this project, we assessed temporal variability and stability of the fecal microbiome in 50 participants from the Multiethnic Cohort Study. Participants were asked to collect a stool sample every six months over a two-year period following a previously published method (PMC4892953), for a total of five samples each. Extracted DNA was sequenced for the V1-V3 region of the 16S rRNA gene using the Illumina Miseq platform.
