Analysis of intestinal microbiota in Polish Crohn disease patients

The project aims to investigate the composition and diversity of intestinal microbiota in Polish patients diagnosed with Crohn disease. Crohn disease is a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract, and recent studies suggest that alterations in gut microbiota may play a significant role in its pathogenesis and progression.This research will focus on characterizing microbial communities using 16S rRNA gene-based metagenomic sequencing, comparing microbiota profiles between Crohn disease patients and healthy controls, and identifying potential microbial biomarkers associated with disease severity and treatment response.The use of 16S metagenomic analysis will enable high-resolution taxonomic profiling of bacterial populations, providing insights into microbial diversity and dysbiosis patterns. The findings are expected to contribute to a better understanding of the microbiome's role in Crohn disease and may support the development of personalized therapeutic strategies for Polish patients.
