Gateway to the Americas: New Archaeological Evidence on North American Origins, Alaska, 2010-2013

Gateway to the Americas I and II are a four-year project to survey and test for submerged archaeological sites in southeast Alaska in the Alexander Archipelago. Marine geophysical survey and minimal sampling of the seafloor was conducted in southeast Alaska to explore areas of high archaeological potential for preserved archaeological sites. Fieldwork was conducted in May-June in 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2014. The last year was only subsurface testing, no data is included here.
