Effect of phage treatment on residential community characteristics

A lake water bacterial community was invaded with Flavobacterium columnare strain Fc7 at no, low and high propagule pressure. The treatments phage (FCL-2), antibitotics (penicillin) or no treatment were applied to each of the propagule pressures to study the impacts of the treatments on the residential community characteristics. The design consisted of 9 experimental groups (3 propagule pressures x 3 treatments) each replicated 5 times (n=45 mirocosms). Bacterial community samples were collected before the invasion, after the invasion but before the treatment application and then at day 1, 3 and 7.
