This is a spreadsheet of data for Junonia coenia densovirus (JcDV) prevalence and load across populations of Melissa blue (<i>Lycaeides melissa</i>) adults sampled at specific time points over a span of 16 years. Virus prevalence ("virus_hit" = 1) of individuals was determined using qPCR with primers of the viral capsid gene. Viral "load" was calculated algebraically by use of a standard curve regression equation (y=-0.2413x + 11.601; R<sup>2</sup> = 0.99) derived from the cycle threshold values of serial dilutions of viral stock (10<sup>3</sup> through 10<sup>9</sup> viral genome units). "ISO_date" (international format), "month," "year," "period," and "ord_date" (day of the year) are all columns for analyzing temporal patterns of sample collection time on viral prevalence. Populations of Melissa blues were recorded as using either novel alfalfa (<i>Medicago sativa</i>; "host_type" = A), native host plants (<i>Astragalus</i>, <i>Lupinus</i>, or <i>Glycyrrhiza spp</i>.; "host_type" = N), or both types for oviposition and larval diet.
