Individual Attendance Data for UNFCCC COPs and pre-COPs

Through the application of text-as-data techniques to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of the Parties (COPs) and pre-COP attendance roster source files, we extract and build attendee-level datasets for all annual COP and pre-COP meetings held under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and its precursor, 1991-2024. These data include original language and English-translated information on over 27,470 unique delegations and over 310,200 attendees over a 33-year period. An associated README provides details on the distinct datasets provided, and their underlying variables.
