To elucidate the molecular mechanism by which LPS treatment increases HIF-1α expression, lipopolysaccharide was added to cultured cardiomyocytes derived from neonatal SD rats, and changes in gene expression were evaluated 24 h after LPS treatment. Cardiomyocytes were isolated from neonatal SD rats and cultured for several days. Subsequently, LPS (100 ng/mL) was added, and total RNA was extracted 24 hrs later for microarray analysis.
