Host-associated biotypes of Aphis gossypii

The cotton-melon aphid, Aphis gossypii, a notorious polyphagous pest, consists of a number of host-specialized biotypes, such as Malvaceae- (MA) and Cucurbitaceae-specialized (CU) biotype. We hypothesized that a host-specialized biotype expresses biotype-specific salivary effectors or elicitors that determine the compatibility of the biotype with its specific host. This study aims to screen pupative effecors comparative transcriptome analysis.
