Bilateral Export Flows of Asian Landlocked Developing Countries and Their Trading Partners (2010–2024)

This dataset contains bilateral export trade flows between 12 Asian landlocked developing countries (LLDCs) and their top 15 trading partners over the period 2010–2024. The dataset is designed to support empirical research on international trade, export performance, and the effects of trade policy shocks using gravity model frameworks. The data include annual bilateral export values along with key economic, geographical, logistical, institutional, and policy-related variables. Economic indicators comprise gross domestic product of exporting and importing countries, real effective exchange rates, and tariff rates. Geographical variables include bilateral distance, common border, and common language. Logistical performance is captured using the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index for both exporters and importers. Institutional and regional integration indicators cover major regional trade arrangements relevant to Asian LLDCs, including ASEAN, EAEU, APTA, and NEA. In addition, the dataset incorporates dummy variables identifying different phases of the US–China trade war. All data are compiled from publicly available and authoritative sources, including UN Comtrade, the World Bank (WDI and LPI), CEPII, WTO, IMF, and UNCTAD. The dataset is organized in a bilateral panel structure (exporter–importer–year) and is suitable for estimation using ordinary least squares (OLS), Poisson pseudo-maximum likelihood (PPML), Negative Binomial, and Poisson quasi-maximum likelihood (QML) models. This dataset enables transparent and reproducible analysis of export performance and trade resilience in landlocked developing economies and can be readily extended for robustness checks, comparative studies, and policy-oriented research.
