CTD and ocean current profiles in Admiralty Inlet
收藏资源简介:
Water column properties (i.e. temperature, salinity, currents) were collected during the melt period in Admiralty Inlet to provide baseline information about water column stratification below landfast sea ice in Admiralty Inlet in early spring and how these properties change throughout the melt season due to freshwater input from snowmelt and river discharge. Ocean current information was collected to validate modelled ocean current information in this region (e.g. Webtide). This dataset was developed as part of a larger project to establish observational systems for weather, current, and sinaa (lead) monitoring to complement Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (IQ; Inuit knowledge and ways of knowing) and support real-time decision making for safe spring ice travel in the communities of Ikpiarjuk (Arctic Bay) and Mittimatalik (Pond Inlet), Nunavut.
