Interaction between thiols and precious metals in microorganisms

The aim of the proposal is to explore the interaction of thiols, present in organic matter (humic acid, E. Colis, Koda.), with precious metals (Pt, Pd) in order to better understand the accumulation and transport of these metals in microorganisms. Samples are microorganisms exposed to varying degrees of platinum (100uM, 1h or 24h). They are deposited in a thin layer on a Si3N4 membrane and frozen in liquid nitrogen until analysis. The idea is to study the colocalization of S and Pt in different parts of the bacteria (interior, surface, vesicle) and to study changes in S speciation.
