Improving a training model for vascular surgical techniques

Abstract We describe a low-cost model for training vascular surgical techniques. The model is constructed from cylindrical latex balloons filled with gelatin and fixed to a board for support. Arterial sutures, end-to-side and end-to-end anastomoses, patch, vascular shunt placement, and thromboembolectomy were simulated.
