资源简介:
29 photographs of the Rose Parade and crowds, Pasadena, California, 1946 January 1. The signs on the parade floats read "Pasadena Board of City Directors," "1942," "1943," "1944," "1945," "Grand Marshal [Admiral William Halsey, Jr.]" "57th Annual Tournament of Roses," and "President [Charles A. Strutt]" One of the marching bands carries a banner for "Sherman Institute," and the beginning of the "57th Annual Tournament of Roses" is marked by 2 men carrying a banner and followed by 2 Willys Jeeps. a phalanx of which appears to end the parade, as crowds take over the streets from the grandstands and sidewalks. There is a close up of Admiral Halsey in the marshal's float, and he is featured outside the parade in 2 photographs in which he wears a full-dress uniform with decorations: one with him alone, waving a glove; one with a woman who is probably the Tournament of Roses queen Patricia Auman (Richards), and the president of the 1946 Tournament of Roses, Charles A. Strutt.
