资源简介:
The data in these files were generated as part of Dr. Daniel Ritter's PhD research on the \"Relationship between recharge, redox conditions, and microbial methane generation in coal beds,\" (dissertation published in 2015; University of Arizona), funded by the National Science Foundation (EAR-1322805; PI: Jennifer McIntosh; Co-PI: Thomas Maddock III). Results include major ion chemistry, stable isotopes (18O, 2H, 13C, and 34S and d18O of SO4), radiogenic isotopes (Sr, 4He, and associated noble gases), and radioactive isotopes (3H) of groundwater sampled from coal bed monitoring wells and natural gas production wells in the Powder River Basin in Wyoming and Montana. Molecular and isotopic composition of dissolved and produced gases are also included. In addition, data on U and Th content, and 4He release rates from coal solid samples are also reported. Part of this dataset was published in the following article: Schweitzer, H., Ritter, D., McIntosh, J., Barnhart, E., Cunningham, A.B., Vinson, D., Orem, W., Fields, M. (2019) Changes in microbial communities and associated water and gas geochemistry across a sulfate gradient in coal beds: Powder River Basin, USA. Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 245, 495-513. doi:10.1016/j.gca.2018.11.009.
