Peeper Inoculation Experiment and Amphibian Development Survey

This dataset consists of the files accompanying two projects. First, the Peeper Inoculation Experiment (PIE) consisted of two short term studies investigating microbiome development in spring peepers. In short, we differentially reared tadpoles from identified pairs of adult peepers in either the field of lab to understand the effects of environment and parentage on microbiome structure in peeper embryos and tadpoles. Next, we performed an inoculation experiment in which spring peeper embryos were selectively inoculated with one of three priority bacteria isolates followed by a community inoculum. The second project, the Amphibian Development Survey (ADS), consists of whole-body samples collected from amphibians around the Blacksburg, Virginia area. Samples were obtained from eggs, tadpoles, and juvenile frogs of spring peepers, gray treefrogs, wood frogs, American toads and eggs from Jefferson salamanders.
