Using data sourced from Twitter, Reddit and TikTok which was synthesised from an independent sample of 1,351,203 people worldwide, 12 months to 6th July 2024, we asked people why data privacy is important. The top reasons found were Avoid Data Breaches (42.7%), Protect Personal Information (15.4%), Safeguard Sensitive Data (14.8%), Comply with Privacy Regulations (8.22%), and Protect Against Surveillance (6.1%).
