Ideological Framework of Television News in Canada, 1980

The content data in this file is the first and more general of two content studies of TV news. It roughly parallels the kind of data reported by the Glasgow media group in the first volume of their study &lt;i&gt;Bad news&lt;/i&gt;. The key kinds of variables concern basic identification data (story topic, duration, position, etc.), technical inputs (film, graphics, etc.), modes of presentation, interviewees and news values. The discrete news item is the basic unit of analysis.
