Historical shoreline data for Banks Island, NWT, Canada (1995-2019)
收藏资源简介:
In partnership with the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation, the Canadian Consortium for Arctic Data Interoperability (CCADI) developed a project/use case to identify areas most at risk from the impacts of coastal erosion, and to advance community-led and science-based adaptive strategy recommendations to assist with future policy-relevant decisions. Banks Island and by extension, the community of Sachs Harbor was identified as one locale that is experiencing the effects of coastal erosion. The corollary goal of this project was to acquire and share new data describing locations and rates of coastal change -- over the period 2005 to 2019-- with community members and scientists, helping to improve understanding of wider patterns of Arctic responses to changing environmental forcings.
