British and Irish butterflies and moths: The Cockayne collection

This collection was formed in 1970 by the amalgamation of the Rothschild-Cockayne-Kettlewell collection with the many other important British and Irish Lepidoptera collections already at the Natural History Museum, UK. Each record comprises images and data relating to a specimen from the Cockayne collection: - Butterflies: Approximately 1,700 images illustrating geographic, seasonal, genetic and major individual variations - Larger moths (Macrolepidoptera): Approximately 1,700 images of typical specimens and common forms - Smaller moths (Microlepidoptera) These records have been databased as part of the NHM's main specimen dataset.
