<b>STANISLAWEK et al., 2025 </b>- Global warming and genomic diversity loss alter the biomass and the size distribution of experimental fish populations, <i>Global Change Biology </i>

Climate warming and the loss of genetic diversity can interact to alter wild populations, yet their combined effects are still poorly understood. Through a one-year experiment with freshwater fish, we demonstrate that populations with low genetic diversity produce less biomass and become more uniform in body size, and these effects intensify under warmer conditions. Our findings underscore the importance of genetic diversity in maintaining healthy, resilient ecosystems by highlighting its role in helping populations cope with climate warming.
