The papaya mealybug, Paracoccus marginatus Williams and Granara de Willink (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae), is a polyphagous pest that can feed on more than 200 plants. This species can causing serious economic losses and potential threats to numerous economically crops as well as a great number of ornamental plants, such as avocado (Persea americana), cassava (Manihot esculenta), papaya (Carica papaya), tomato (Solanum lycopersicum), chili pepper (Capsicum annuum), mulberry (Morus alba), eggplant (Solanum melongena)and so on.
