Two-wheeled motorcycles (category L3) adopt spark plug ignition combustion. The combustion products tend to undergo high-temperature dissociation, especially in some dead zones where ignition fails or misfires occur under certain operating conditions, resulting in carbon monoxide (CO) in their emissions. Therefore, detecting the carbon monoxide content in vehicle exhaust provides a factual basis for verifying whether the exhaust emissions of two-wheeled motorcycles (category L3) meet the standards, and offers data support for environmental supervision and vehicle management. 1. Data Collection Detect the carbon monoxide content in the exhaust gas of two-wheeled motorcycles (category L3). 2. Data Detection The diluted gas is formed by mixing exhaust emissions and ambient air. Using the oxygen concentration in the air, the analyzer measures the CO concentration in the exhaust gas and the CO concentration in the diluted gas, thereby obtaining the dilution ratio of the exhaust gas entering the flowmeter by air. The measured results are corrected for temperature and pressure to obtain the standard volumetric flow rate, and the actual flow rate of the exhaust gas is calculated based on the dilution ratio of the exhaust. According to the concentration of exhaust components and the exhaust flow rate, the emission pollutant content in the exhaust gas of two-wheeled motorcycles can be measured. Combined with the actual output power of the engine detected by the chassis dynamometer, this data is used to conduct real-time analysis of the emission quality of exhaust pollutants under the vehicle's load conditions. 3. Data Processing The calculation formula is CO = (1/S) * V * dco * COc / 10^6, where S is the travel distance with the unit of kilometer (km); V is the actual flow rate of exhaust gas with the unit of liter (L); dco is the density of carbon monoxide at a temperature of 293.2 K and atmospheric pressure of 101.33 kPa, with dco = 1.164 kg/m³; COc is the volume concentration of carbon monoxide in the diluted exhaust gas, with the unit of 10⁻⁶ (V/V). The allowable limit for carbon monoxide is 2.0 (g/km), and values exceeding this limit are deemed non-compliant. 4. Data Application Through analysis and evaluation of the detection data, it can be determined whether the carbon monoxide content in the exhaust gas of two-wheeled motorcycles (category L3) exceeds the standard, providing data support for environmental supervision and vehicle management.
