High cadence vertical drift campaigns 2017/297 , 2023/079
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains high-cadence ionospheric measurements from two observation campaigns conducted at the Průhonice ionospheric observatory (Czech Republic) on 24 October 2017 (Campaign I) and 20 March 2023 (Campaign II). The measurements were carried out using a Digisonde-4D system and include: SKY files, which contain detected ionospheric echo points along with associated Doppler shifts. These allow for the derivation of vertical plasma drift velocities using appropriate analysis techniques. GRM ionogram files, which provide information on ionospheric stratification and enable indirect estimation of vertical drifts based on the time evolution of height parameters (e.g., h'F, hmF2). The dataset was used for the comparative analysis of vertical ionospheric drifts determined via direct (Doppler) and indirect (ionogram-derived) methods. Each file represents one day of measurements and is provided in its original Digisonde-4D format. File descriptions: The dataset contains two types of files used in Digisonde measurements: GRM files – Standard Digisonde data files containing ionograms (ionospheric echo traces as a function of frequency and virtual height). The GRM format is a standard output of the Digisonde system and is fully described on the University of Massachusetts Lowell Center for Atmospheric Research (UMLCAR) website. The data can be viewed and processed using the SAO-X software, available at: https://ulcar.uml.edu/downloads.html.The detailed GRM file format specification is also provided on the same page. SKY files – Files containing reflection points detected during drift measurements (used for determining ionospheric plasma drift velocities). These files can be visualized and analyzed with the DRIFT-X software, which can also be downloaded from https://ulcar.uml.edu/downloads.html.The SKY file format specification is provided on the same website as well.
